Is there any advantage of starting your own alliance by building the Foreign Ministry over joining an existing alliance?

Am I better off waiting for someone else to start an alliance?

no real advantage, but if you create the first alliance, then your alliance id will be 1. Not sure it's worth anything.

Dont worry about letting other people create alliances first. Sacrificing growth is not worth it, although first alliances might absorb new members faster and easier than those who follow. Hard to say.

Is there a set limit on the number of embassies one can have or is there a limit based on army size/income?

I have 5 embassies now, but it won't allow me to get any more. I hope this is not permanent.

As you might have noticed there are around 30 active players on RA right now (ignoring newly registered ones). Right now you have 5 members from foreign ministry plus another 5 for 5 embassies. This means a maximum of 10 members per alliance.

This limit will increase when RA active playerbase increases.
You will always be able to invite up 10-20% of all actives to your alliance.
